Taking the perfect outfit picture can be stressful sometimes. You might look super short, then the lighting is bad and there's a huge shadow on your face or you are standing in an awkward position again!

Even though I have the same problems while taking pictures, I've found some ways to improve and enhance my photos. Here are my most valuable tips and tricks that will help you better your content.!

Background

Before I start taking pictures, I like to plan a little bit ahead to avoid wasting time trying to get the perfect shot. I like to plan the outfit or vibe I want to create and what type of location would suit well. Therefore I always make sure the background of my pictures is clean and free of people.

Lighting

I know, I know - good lighting is what everybody will tell you when it comes to taking the perfect picture - and it's true! The first thing I check before taking 100 pictures is the lighting. Taking your pictures outside at noon won't promise you the best pics. What important is, from where the light is coming. Once I have found the place to take my pictures, I ask my friend to stand in front of my camera and we turn 360 degrees holding my phone with my camera on to see from which side the lighting is the best. If possible, always watch where the sun is and stand so the sun is shining at you and not from behind you!

Camera Perspective

This is one of my favorite tips and I know before even checking my pictures if they're good or not depending on how the phone is being held by my friend. I always make sure to tell the person photographing me, to tilt the top part of the phone towards them and to make sure that there's enough space above my head in the frame. This will make you look taller and the picture won't look squishy. It will also allow you to have room to adjust and crop your picture as well as look more clean in your feed.

Posing

When it comes to posing everybody might have different preferences. Therefore my best advice is to find 1-2 poses in which you feel comfortable and you think make you look the best! The more comfortable you get posing for pictures the more you can try out different poses. Also, don't be shy to practice in front of a mirror!

Fun & Comfort

Sometimes taking pictures in public or having your pictures taken by someone else can be awkward. I personally feel the most comfortable and daring to try new things when I take my pictures by myself in my room! Nonetheless, it's important to get used to and not care what other people think. Have fun, don't overthink, and do what makes you feel good and comfortable. I promise your pictures will get better and better!

Editing

My favorite part - the editing! I love going through my pictures and editing them while watching Netflix. I always go through each picture and favorite the ones I see potential in and then go through my favorites again and choose the best ones. After that, I just use my Contentily Presets e voila!
